On Day 3 of the Kangaroo Island Wilderness Trail y

On Day 3 of the Kangaroo Island Wilderness Trail you can take the quick side trip to Remarkable Rocks, arguably one of Kangaroo Island's most famous sights. By the time you get here, you're already halfway through Day 3.

We left the campground just before sunrise and had the rocks all to ourselves for almost an hour, fantastic! I was chuffed to be able to crawl around and explore without people walking into my shots all the time! 😁

Views of the wild Southern Ocean along the Kangaroo Island Wilderness Trail on Day 2. This day was my favourite day on the five-day hike; it was the hardest day (lots of soft sand walking + rock stepping) but it was also the most scenic as the entire day takes you along the untamed coastline.

We didn't meet an abundance of wildlife on the Kan

We didn't meet an abundance of wildlife on the Kangaroo Island Wilderness Trail (except for hundreds of baby seals frolicking down in the waves and suntanning on rocks). I also came across a tiger snake on Day 2 of the hike but fortunately, she was keen to find happiness elsewhere.
So my final photo tally was really only a goanna, a lizard and a few kangaroos from afar.

I didn't get much of a chance to take sunset photos on the Kangaroo Island Wilderness Trail, mostly because the campsites aren't in particularly scenic locations. So this is officially one of the most romantic campground photos I've ever taken, and it's not even our tent! 🏕️😂

Kangaroo Island was badly impacted by the black su

Kangaroo Island was badly impacted by the black summer a few years ago. Around 97% of Flinders Chase National Park was burnt in January 2020 so it's incredible to see the area recovering and regrowing so abundantly and gorgeously. My particular favourites were the fruity succulent sticks and the flaming red bushes! 😍
